Call to Action: Home Buyers’ Plan

Call to Action: Home Buyers’ Plan

REALTOR®,

Numbers matter on Parliament Hill. At this point, there has not been enough of a response from the REALTOR® community to get the government’s attention to stop the erosion of the HBP in Budget 2015. Please take two minutes to respond to our call to action. Help us cut through the thousands of other businesses, organizations and individuals vying for the government’s consideration.

Let me remind you what’s at stake.

The HBP, which has helped over 2.6 million Canadians withdraw up to $25,000 from their Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) to put towards their first home purchase, is being steadily eroded.

Today’s homebuyer receives over $1,500 less value from the program than a homebuyer in 2009. By 2020, this gap will widen to $5,000.

This fall, we are asking you to take a stand and ask the government to stop the erosion of the HBP, by adjusting its withdrawal limit to inflation, in Budget 2015.

How do you do it? Click on the button below to send a letter to your Member of Parliament. It’s quick, easy and only takes a minute or two.
