Charity Success in the BREB Community

The Terra Cotta Community Centre was originally built in 1862 since then it has seen many changes both structurally and in its main use.  It has always been used as a community meeting place and to this day still is.

The building was not weathering well and in the early 2000’s the board of directors of the Community Centre started fundraising for the reconstruction of this charming but dilapidated hall. By May 2010 the board of Directors had finally gathered together all the permits, approvals and fund raised $165.000.00, enough to start the reconstruction project and so it began.

There are still a few more projects needed to be completed before it can truly be said that the job is done.   The Terra Cotta Community Centre belongs to the residents of Terra Cotta and is not a municipal building. More and continuous fundraising is needed to enable the residents of Terra Cotta a continued place of Community.

Some of the activities that take place in the Village Community Centre are Pot lucks, various training sessions, Christmas Village gatherings, Yoga just to name a few.    Many of the residents rent the hall for showers, weddings, birthday parties and family functions.  It has a fully equipped and approved kitchen and is wheel chair accessible.

Fund raising activities are ongoing two of the most well know fund raisers are  Le tour De Terra Cotta an exciting colourful  all ages, cycling event held all through the village of Terra Cotta  and the Golf Tournament held at the Caledon Golf and Country Club and then a lovely meal on the outside patio of the Terra Cotta Inn
