We know that RECO’s recent application processing delays have been impacting many of you at the local board/association level. We apologize for the ongoing delay and the extra work it may be creating for you to verify your members’ registration with RECO.
RECO’s Registrant Search feature – now showing renewals in process
RECO’s Registrant Search feature has now been updated to show when a registration renewal is in progress. If a registrant’s expiration date has passed, but their status is listed as “eligible to trade; renewal in process,” they are allowed to continue trading. We hope this feature makes it easier for you to confirm the registration status of your members.
We are aware that there are functionality challenges with new registrants not appearing on the search. That issue should be resolved soon. We will inform you once that update is complete.
Update on the processing delay
RECO is taking numerous steps and using an “all hands on deck” approach to expedite the processing of applications; however, it will take time to return to our service standards. We expect new registration and re-instatement application processing times to return to normal levels by mid-June, and renewals by mid-July.
What if a registrant has submitted their renewal application but it’s not processed before their registration expiry date?
If a renewal application has been submitted, the registration is deemed to continue and the registrant is allowed to continue trading. Their registration on the MyRECO Certificate App and the Registrant Search feature on RECO’s website will show they are eligible to trade.
New registrants are frustrated that they are unable to begin trading until their application is processed. What can we tell them?
We continue to prioritize processing applications that impact a person’s ability to trade, namely new registrations and re-instatements. We understand the frustration among those who are waiting for their registration to be approved and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience the delay may have caused.
While we understand that the recent issues have been frustrating, please know that this recent system upgrade will, in short order, enhance our overall service delivery by enabling our staff to work faster and more efficiently.
We will continue to provide updates as they become available.
Thank you for your ongoing patience.
