Dear OREA Leaders,

Later today we will be sending the attached all member email, notifying our members of the upcoming townhall on the new REBBA – The Trust in Real Estate Services Act, 2019 (TRESA).

The townhall will be taking place on Tuesday, December 17th, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. EST, where we will be delivering an important update on the status of TRESA and what it means for REALTORS® across Ontario.

The townhall will be hosted by OREA CEO Tim Hudak, OREA President Karen Cox and OREA President-Elect Sean Morrison.

TRESA has proposed several significant changes to Ontario’s real estate laws that will impact Ontario REALTORS®, so it is important that our members join us for this discussion.

Specifically, we will address proposed changes in the Bill that, if passed, will raise professional standards, strengthen consumer protection, and create a stronger business environment for Ontario REALTORS®, including finally allowing REALTORS® to form Personal Real Estate Corporations.

We will also be responding to members questions and we ask that questions be sent to us by emailing governmentrelations@orea.com by Friday, December 13th, 2019.

Please do not hesitate to contact me directly should you require additional information.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Jason Lagerquist
