The Canadian Real Estate Association’s (CREA) office will be closed on Friday, September 30 in observance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, and will reopen on Monday, October 3.
CREA’s Member Experience Centre will not be available on Friday, September 30. CREA WEBForms® support will be available from 8 a.m. until midnight (EDT).
The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a federal holiday which CREA observes as an act of solidarity with Indigenous peoples. Whether you have the entire day away from work or not, there are many ways to mark the day and show up as an authentic ally.
To learn how you can get involved in commemorative activities in your area, check out your local municipality’s website. To be part of a national event, the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation will be hosting events in Ottawa and Winnipeg with programming and ceremonies open to all ages. These are just a few examples – there are activities to be found across the country.
You can also choose to stay home and quietly reflect on the significance of the day, sitting with the memories of our Indigenous neighbours. In ways small and large, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is an opportunity for us all to take action in our lives.
If you have any questions, please direct them to support@crea.ca prior to Thursday, September 29.
